Erfworld Guest Art - Update 33by ~sirscalf

Rob Balder, the writer for the webcomic, Erfworld, has been putting up text updates over the summer and asked for volunteers to add illustrations to these updates. I volunteered (I'm making that sound infinitely more calm than I actually was at the time) and was selected.

I completely freaked out; what had I gotten myself into?

This is my submission, the illustration for Update 33, in which Wanda Firebaugh and Ansom, the Warlord-formerly-known-as-Prince are marching to retake the first of many cities. I could waste paragraphs explaining it all, but you'll just have to go read it for yourself.

With this image, I tried to emulate the character style of the Erfworld main artist, Jamie Noguchi and the fascinating way he draws the almost pseudo-chibi characters. Sketched on paper, digitally inked and colored.

Hopefully you enjoy it, I certainly had a blast drawing it.

*applauds* First off, congratulations on being chosen, that's entirely a gracious honor and I believe your art skills speak for you! ^-^

Secondly, the color scheme just seems to add more to the "gothic" nature of the picture. I love the helm <3 that's just pure sexy and I am going to steal those dragons! They're sooo cuuuute!
